Bad news, dude. Remember Cannacamp, the heaven-for-stoners world-first cannabis resort set to open in July in Durango?
It didn’t open – and not because they, uh, got distracted. According to developers The MaryJane Group, the location did not work out to our standards, and the land partners failed to secure the 170-acre ranch in Durango we had been promised. Youd think theyd have sorted this before announcing the camp to the world (and talking about it throughout June, but then, these are optimistic, thinking-the-best-of-others stoners, after all.
Instead, the group will expand its Bud+Breakfast brand in Colorado. It already has two locations in the Denver area; theyll now be joined by the Hotel San Ayre in Colorado Springs. Its a former motel, apparently, but not like any motel weve seen before – the rooms look decent and the views – like that from the Mountain Suite (see the photos on the website – can be pretty spectacular.
Prices start from $ 129 and include breakfast (a continental Wake+Bake), and a 4.20 Happy Hour, which includes free beer, wine and munchies hors doeuvres. Already booked Cannacamp? Theyre offering free stays at the Bud+Breakfasts to make up for it. Not bad. Dude.
