Over in Fort Lauderdale the best keeps getting better, as the next property in townfollowing some news from the Wto get a nip and tuck is The Ritz-Carlton.
The place hasnt even been open ten years, but its already time to get some work done. They were the first property in town to score an AAA Five Diamond rating, so we guess they dont want to just rest on their laurels. All in all they will be spending $ 8 million to upgrade and improve the place, as they work with the architecture and design group over at Streetsense.
New goodies include an all-new restaurant and bar, a new look to the entire lobby, a few new spots to spend some retail dollars, and a refresh of the on-site spa. Things kick off this summer, but theyre hoping to have everything wrapped up quicklytheyre shooting for finishing things by the end of 2015.
As for the details, the restaurant doesnt have a name yet, but you can expect awesome views of the Atlantic Ocean. Theyre going with a throwback theme to when the area was famous for being a bootleggers paradise. We can only imagine that means lots of awesome rum-based cocktails.
The lobby will feature plenty of tech, and beyond that there will be table top games to hang out with family and friends. It sounds like they want the lobby to be much more than just check-in and check-out, and thatll likely be the case every time you swing into one of the planned shops on your way to or from your room. The winter weather will be here before we know it, so were glad The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale will be ready with a fresh new look.
